was the conditions given to us by the owner Michael Toutoungi when we started working with Café Foam.

We began searching for extremes, where passion and hate were equally present.

Our entrance to the project became the complexity around bull fighting as a phenomenon.

This struggle along with the materials and colours at the stadium were the inspiration when designing the new Café Foam.

A place for everybody to be.

Brunch Foam Café (Stockholm) - TopBrunch

Located in the Östermalm neighborhood of Stockholm, Café Foam is a surprising mix between Spain and Sweden – according to its designers.

Blonde wood, pale walls, vivid colors between shades of pink, red and purple, it’s a trendy café with three key words: quality, innovation and care.

While keeping the spirit that has always made Foam somewhere unique!

Its brunch has always been popular and very much appreciated.

Foam serves it on weekends, and it offers four different options: - American pancakes with seasonal fruits, berries and vanilla ice cream (SEK 135) - Scrambled eggs and bacon, with sausage and salad (SEK 140) - Club sandwiches with chicken, bacon, avocado and roasted potatoes (SEK 140) - Brunch “de luxe”: scrambled eggs or club sandwiches, followed by American pancakes (SEK 240)

There are even places where they can choose a “scooby-snack” out of their own dog menu, meet new four-legged buddies and celebrate their birthdays.

They have a corner with bowls for water and food called ¨Dog bar¨ and they also have a bar for you so that you can both sit down under the sun, weather permitting, and have something refreshing while enjoying one of the best views over the city.

If that walk by the water in Hornstull made you and your dog a bit hungry or thirsty, make a pit stop, grab a beer and a bite for you and pick something from the dog-menu for the four-legged one, then sit under the sun.

Even if you don’t have a dog, going to one of this places will give you the chance to spend some time surrounded by cuddle-craving dogs, which will for sure cheer you up any day.

And just remember, the next time your dog-owner friends bring up the excuse that they cannot meet up to go grab that beer with you, because they don’t know who to leave the dog with… Now you know there are plenty of options for places you can all go to.

Given a brief to design something “that people either love or hate, and that nobody is indifferent to” – as Stockholm’s Note Design Studio were by Café Foam owner Michael Toutoungi – I may personally have delivered something a bit more obstinately Marmite, perhaps done something with pig’s blood and naked dwarves.

Of course you can’t really imagine anyone being indifferent to Note’s bold use of colours, through dramatic sweeping geometric divisions, you’d certainly imagine many loving its distinctive Scandi-cool and the smart use of bespoke hand-blown glass pendants – but hate it?
