Classic French cuisine, traditional Swedish fare has been served at this prestigious establishment for the past thirty years.

Grodan is actually one of the largest restaurants in the city, although the venue is divided into several smaller spaces; the bar, dining room, lounge, outdoor terrace and bistro.

The restaurant opened in 1985 and was originally called La Grenouille – which means ‘frog’ in French.

But the regulars quickly adopted the local name and thus Grodan was conceived.

In accordance to its origin, the menu features continental French flavours and traditional Swedish dishes.

When I went to Stockholm with my mum, for Mother’s Day, this seemed the perfect time to book a table at Grodan.

Although the restaurant has several rooms, all the tables were taken.

The menu includes both meat and fish dishes.

My mom choosed the Fish Casserole which was actually a delicious fish soup based on lobster soup and with large pieces of different kinds of fish and mussels.

I was excited about my surprising pasta but I think I would go for the fish soup the next time.
