Spanjorskan

Spanjorskan, new Spanish neighborhood restaurant in Östermalm ...
food value
This sunny afternoon we had the pleasure to be seated outside on their terrace and this is definitely one of those restaurants you want to enjoy for a while and keep their delicious dishes coming.
We got to try out a few dishes from their á la carte lunch menu as well as some starters and sweets.
Some of our favorites were the Whole blackened artichoke with eggplant crème, roasted eggplants, zucchini salad and marcona almonds (priced at 245 kr), their homemade sausage with a salad of grilled fennel, big white beans in tomato sauce with sour cream and pork rinds (190 kr) and the starter Grilled Pimentos Padron with grated manchego and smoky salt (65 kr) and the dessert Honey & Lavender Ice Cream with preserved black currant, meringue, oat crumbs and honey crisp (95 kr).
It looks amazing and taste good, but for the price I would consider some of the dishes mentioned above or if you kindly ask to just order the tremendous side salad with escabeche, baked tomatoes on a vine and yellow wax beans.
If you’re in the mood for a quicker lunch they also offer a daily special priced at 145 kr.
New Graphic Identity for Spanjorskan by Lobby Design — BP&O
ambience food menu
Spanjorskan also has a distinctive menu with a sense of the theatrical and celebratory to it in colour, presentation and serving, one that is made up of large shared dishes presented with a favour for the bold and dramatic.
This sense of interior character and food theatre also runs throughout the restaurant’s graphic identity, designed by Swedish studio Lobby Design.
Further into the website, there is a better sense of where the tone of the logotype comes from, that it is rooted in the qualities of the dishes and informed by some of the design of interior, not rooted in a gimmick.
The sans-serif gold block foiled secondary logotype at the foot of menus, and as an occasional detail within artwork, is a lovely use of contrast but interior reference, and a useful Scandinavian-like anchor point where everything else is free, loose and loud.
Although there is plenty of visual character to logotype, one that feels communicatively direct and memorable, and in contrast to a refined and measured interior, it draws on the material qualities and range of surfaces, fixture and fittings.

New Zealand based Studio South worked with Lithuanian illustrator Egle Zvirblyte to build a graphic identity up of colourful characters for Mark Wallbank and Che Barrington’s new Thai canteen Gogo Daddy which is located in Ponsonby Central, Auckland.
It features a distinctive interior of wood and stepped brick walls developed by FHHH Friends, furniture and objects by studio COM and a graphic identity designed Studio fnt.
Graphic identity is expressed through menus, coasters, packaging and framed calligraphic posters, but also through small details within the interior and in the shaping of furniture.
Each element; interior, furniture, objects, graphic identity and calligraphy establish a multi-disciplinary continuity and a shared form language.
Here, the tiger reference appears as a character on coasters and posters, as stripes and patterns woven into the interior, or bringing a modernity to the traditional craft of calligraphy.
