Sturehof AB

Founded in 1897, the classic brasserie provides a seafood and shellfish feast in true Swedish style.

The Swedish specialty fish can be enjoyed either as a starter, with five different sauces and sided by Swedish cheese, or served fried as a main with brown butter and potato purée.

To sweep you off your feet, dig in some salted salmon with dill-creamed potatoes, lobsters from Canada or gratined prawns from Dublin.

Reviews - Örjan Wallert

Konsten.nu Aktuellt 2002-12-15 ID:I Galleri, Stockholm: Örjan Wallert ( 7/12-6/1 2003 )   When [ the Swedish painter ] Torsten Andersson, from during a period of making three-dimensional objects, turned to represent them in painting, it was a choice of more extensive consequences, concerning not only his own artistry.

Anderssons “portraits” of sculptures express the conviction that it is possible to transform three-dimensional shapes into lines and geometrical structures without, because of this, the result becomes an illusion.

Örjan Wallert acts in a similar way, but from an opposite starting point.

He starts the process of transformation in the world of pictures, from which three-dimensional shapes and sounds are filtered out.

Örjan Wallerts exhibition is as subtle as it is intellectually and emotionally stimulating.

Story Hotel Riddargatan - Ostermalm, Stockholm - Smith Hotels

When Story Hotel Riddargatan opened in Stockholm in 2011, the city’s trend-sensitive hipsters were excited.

The bathrooms have an industrial thing going on, with bare bulbs hanging from the ceiling and a glass wall into the main room – lucky Mr Smith getting to enjoy his favourite view (Mrs Smith).

The view takes you back to a time when Story Hotel Riddargatan was still an apartment building.

Crispbread with aged local cheese, newly baked Swedish cinnabuns, nut-packed breads and delicious Scandinavian soured milk to be enjoyed with the house granola all ensured the hotel got this breakfast connoisseur’s stamp of approval.

Off we went after our fizz, had a blast and came back just in time to enjoy the morning sun from our room’s generous balcony, contemplating why we ever left the Sweden’s capital in the first place.
