Italian Restaurant L'Avventura Opens On Sveavägen - Totally ...
food ambience
The group have just announced that they’re opening L’Avventura, a new Italian restaurant on Sveavägen.
L’Avventura is based on the idea of an classic Italian local restaurant: two bars and a dining hall, with open spacious interior, high ceilings and a red and white colour theme, housed in the venue’s former cinema room.
Ljung says “Our ambition is to take the ‘Italian Restaurant’ to a new level.
I myself married into an Italian family, and have gotten a lot of inspiration, both when it comes to food and atmosphere, from our journeys through that country.
On the subject of the restaurant’s menu, Marino and Bergstrand say “Good, really good Italian food can crown an evening, a date, a Wednesday or a big celebration.

As chef Karl Ljung put it when I had the privilege of dining with him last week: “We hear all the time that there isn’t anything quite like it in Stockholm.”
I asked Ljung to elaborate on what made L’Avventura so special as we enjoyed a delicious assortment of antipasti and pasta.
But Ljung credits L’Avventura’s uniqueness and popularity to the Italian-outside-of-Italy ambience at the heart of his enterprise: “Service, lighting, music, how you sit, how the tables look…of course it’s important for the food to be good—but that’s not the most important thing.
This might sound like sacrilege in Stockholm (“Swedes and their Entrecote,” Ljung laughed knowingly during our conversation), but you won’t even notice the meat’s missing if you try main courses like Melanzane or Roasted Cauliflower.
What You’ll Find: A basement dining room that looks like the love child of Andy Warhol’s factory and a London mod club, two (and eventually three) well-stocked bars Ljung recommends you simply “slink into for a gin and tonic,” and a corner dining room with a promising future as a hub of merriment on Stockholm’s brightly lit summer nights.

This was a bit like being on holiday in Rome, the whole atmosphere, the service and the atmosphere felt o-Swedish.
From that you get through the door until leaving rather than responds to you by amazing service from Stewart, bartenders and waiters.
Since we were set to the table and immediately got an own waiter who introduced himself, the restaurant's concept and went through the menu.

Usine restaurant transforms a Stockholm sausage factory
location food
Usine, a hybrid cultural and culinary destination, has commandeered a former sausage factory in the Stockholm’s Södermalm neighbourhood.
Conceived by designer Richard Lindvall and restaurateurs Tim Karlsson and Michael Andreasson, the space features a bar, café, restaurant, gallery and conference area.
Lindvall opened up the 2,000 sq m space, splitting it into three main areas, housing Usine’s café, bar and restaurant.
‘Big, impressive buildings with lots of space and hard materials, but which still keep a welcoming atmosphere, are very rare in Sweden,’ says Lindvall.
Exposed piping and metallic touches, along with concrete, reference the former sausage factory’s industrial past.

Since then he has become Chef of The Year in Sweden, worked in a number of Michelin starred restaurants and spent time cooking in television.
The last few years Karl Ljung has opened several new restaurants in Stockholm, his latest one is called L’Avventura and with this restaurant, Karl Ljung is going Italian.
I’ve worked in some other roles in restaurants in the past but I always seem to find myself in the kitchen, I guess I just have a hard time sitting still.
Both L’Avventura and your former restaurant Hillenberg serve a classic kitchen.
Those restaurants are very important, they are the ones who create the new things and drive innovation and can be great to visit.
